As part of our mission, we actively engage and connect with communities we work in, to gain insight into their needs as key stakeholders of marine resources, and raise capacity in areas of poor livelihood diversity.
We are always looking for innovative methods of science communication, and have used music, video and theatre to convey a conservation message in previous projects. Check out our past projects page for more information.
We give regular public talks in the communities in which we work, and can also provide schools, universities and general interest groups with seminars or talks on our work. Please get in touch with us if you would like us to speak at your event or in your class. We are currently scheduling the hosting of [Google] “hangouts”, to create a space for Talking Oceans scientists to connect with international audiences or school classes around the world. If you would like to book us for a hangout for your class, then get in touch and we would be happy to give you an out-of-classroom-experience…!
